Connect a Teltonika tracker (FMB / FMC)

Teltonika’s FMB and FMC series are the professional choice — configurable, reliable, and deliberately not set up by SMS. There is no server SMS command for these units: pushing the server settings by hand-typed text would require an SMS login and password as separate leading fields, which nobody can reproduce reliably. Use the Teltonika Configurator over USB instead — it takes five minutes and cannot be mistyped.

What you need

• A Teltonika FMB/FMC unit with a data SIM inserted

• A Windows PC or laptop with Teltonika Configurator installed, plus a micro-USB cable

• Your carrier’s APN name, and the Bug-X server host and port from the tracker-setup page

• The Bug-X Ebike app installed and signed in

Step 1 — GPRS server settings in the Configurator

   Connect the unit over USB, open Teltonika Configurator and load the current profile.

   Under GPRS settings, enter your carrier’s APN, then the Bug-X server domain and port from the tracker-setup page.

   Set the data protocol to TCP (the Bug-X gateway expects a TCP stream).

   Save to the device and disconnect. Power it from the bike and take it outside for a GPS fix.

Step 2 — Register the bike and confirm the first report

In the app, register the bike with the Teltonika protocol and the IMEI printed on the unit’s label. Within a few minutes the device should start streaming: check My Bikes for a fresh location. If nothing arrives, recheck the APN first — nine out of ten silent Teltonikas are APN typos in the Configurator.
