Connect a GT06 tracker (Concox / Jimi)

The GT06 family (Concox, Jimi and compatibles) is the most common tracker on e-bikes — small, wired to the battery, and configured entirely by SMS. In the Bug-X app, pick the protocol “GT06 (Concox / Jimi and compatible)”. Setup is one text message; the whole job takes about ten minutes.

What you need

• A SIM card with mobile data and SMS enabled, with credit loaded

• Your carrier’s APN name (printed on the SIM pack or on their website)

• The tracker wired to power and showing a GPS fix (take it outside)

• The Bug-X Ebike app installed and signed in

Step 1 — Set the APN

Without the right APN the tracker can text but never reaches the internet. Send the APN command from your tracker’s manual with your carrier’s APN name, then wait for the confirmation reply before continuing.

Step 2 — Point it at Bug-X

Copy the current host and port for GT06 from the tracker-setup page (they can change — never copy them from a screenshot), then text this command to the tracker’s SIM. The app builds this SMS for you during guided registration, ready to send.

Step 3 — Verify it answers

Text VERSION# to the tracker. A reply with firmware and version details proves two-way SMS works and the unit is alive. Then give it two to five minutes outdoors: open My Bikes in the app and your bike should appear with a fresh location.

If nothing appears

• No SMS reply at all: the SIM has no credit, or the number texted is not the tracker’s SIM — check both

• Replies arrive but no location: the APN is wrong or data is disabled on the SIM — redo Step 1

• Location is stale: the tracker has no GPS fix — park it under open sky for a few minutes

• Still stuck: message support from the app with your tracker model — include a photo of the label
